Have you considered a trip to Hawaii? Maybe you've been before but haven't seen all of the islands. They are all different and have lots to offer. It's important to find the right fit for the experience you want. Let's break them down a bit.
Oahu
This island is great for someone who gets bored easily. There is so much to do, lots of history (Pearl Harbor), and night life on Oahu. Most of the islands require a car rental, but if not driving is one of your requirements, Oahu (and more specifically Waikiki) is the place for you.
Kaui
This island is the farthest west in the Hawaiin chain of islands. Its nickname is "The Garden Isle" which perfectly describes it's lush, green landscape. It is the oldest island, and 97% of its land is undeveloped. Kauai is great for the outdoorsy type of traveler. Hiking, kayaking, and mountain tubing are popular activities. It's quiet at night, though--everything shuts down around 8pm.
Maui
Maui sits between Oahu and the Big Island and is a good mix of Oahu and Kaui. It's got lush, green landscape and also night life. There is great snorkeling, the road to Hana, and is the best island for whale watching. Maui can be more expensive to visit than the other islands, but don't let that deter you.
Big Island
The Big Island (Hawaii) is the youngest and largest island in Hawaii. Kona is the dry side (most resorts are there) and Hilo is the wet side. This island has 12 distinct climate zones and boasts Volcano National Park. This island is best for those who like adventure and low crowds.
Can't decide? Island hopping is very popular. Choose two or three islands and spend a few days in each!
