Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge

Having been to Walt Disney World many times and having stayed at 10 plus resorts (some more than once), I often get asked "What's your favorite?". My recommendations depend on the clients I am helping. But one of MY personal favorites is Animal Kingdom Lodge. Animal Kingdom Lodge consists of Jambo House (mostly resort rooms) and Kidani Village (Disney Vacation Club property, ie villas). I've stayed in both. Both resorts have access to the amenities at each property. You can take a shuttle from one to the other or a short walk.

The theming of Animal Kingdom Lodge can't be beat. You truly feel like you are in Africa (except for the gift shop full of Minnie ears)--and of course the animals are the icing on the cake! The Safari view rooms are a destination in themselves. I found myself sitting on the balcony constantly amused by the animals eating, roaming, and playing. There's nothing like a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening to complete the view.

Jambo House and Kidani Village both have wonderful pools and dining options. One of my favorite restaurants on all of Disney property is Sanaa located in Kidani Village. If you ever go, do not miss the bread service. It's worth the trip on its own. Couple that with a wine flight and it doesn't get much better.

There's even a starlight safari--think night vision goggles and up-close viewing of the animals. This is something to take your vacation over the top. One thing is for sure, if you stay at Animal Kingdom Lodge, plan some time at the resort. You won't regret it.
